The History
Delta Supply Company Ltd an authorized distributor of a wide variety of industrial equipment, welding and safety supplies, accessories and spare parts. It was founded in 1972 by an industrious Jamaican entrepreneur; Mr. George W. Swire. At its inception, the company was located at 110 Hagley Park Road and in 1982 expanded its facilities to its current location 106 Hagley Park Road. Delta was named by Mr. Swire, who wanted a company name that was significant and easily remembered. His thoughts led him to a very meaningful name "Delta", which is the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet and is defined as a rich triangular tract of deposited fertile earth at the mouth of a river.
In the first fifteen years of operations, Delta sought to excel in the business world confidently and profitably, inspite of the fire that devastated the original building in 1973 and pilferage in 1994. Excelling significantly, the company experienced real growth of 15 per cent per year- hiking this to 20 per cent in 2002 and showing 22 per cent growth, in terms of turnover. Today, Delta is a proud Jamaican firm contributing to the development of society through employment, corporate philanthropy and offering quality products and services to its stakeholders. The company's growth has attracted many international partners/suppliers and as such currently represents over 35 industrial top brands in Jamaica.
